MARIAH CAREY feat LUTHER VANDROSS Endless love Live @ The Royal Alber...

I'm on a Mariah "kick," tonight so bear w/me! :-) I actually bumped into a studio version of this, first, that just brought the tears a-rolling I had forgotten how beautiful this song was and...to see Luther Vandross, again, was wonderful! But...to see them perform in a concert setting is just amazing (except for Luther's profuse sweating; poor dude! And he was thinner, there!)!

I went to see Luther in concert, in the 90's and heard his amazing backup singer, Lisa Fischer, practically steal the show from him she was that good! I'll feature her, next. :-)

Hope you enjoy this vid. A LOT of talent on that stage! Luther passed away in 2005 and is sorely missed. He had the most angelic male voice I had ever heard! :-(

Lisa Fischer - How Can I Ease The Pain - Music Video (1991)

I love how "intense" the beat in this is. Intoxicating! :-P An amazingly strong voice. Hope you enjoy.

'Touch MyBody' - Mariah Carey

OK...one last vid of Mariah that I wanted to share. It's a HOOT and it was fun to see her do a silly vid! I'm sure you'll enjoy the outfits as well! Hope that you have a good laugh! :-D

'Angel' - Sarah McLachlan

LOVE this song. LOVE Sarah's voice. And...I'm a lyric gurl so...I'm going to post those, here! Enjoy!

Spend all your time waiting
For that second chance
For a break that would make it okay
There’s always one reason
To feel not good enough
And it’s hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction
Oh beautiful release
Memory seeps from my veins
Let me be empty
And weightless and maybe
I’ll find some peace tonight

In the arms of an angel
Fly away from here
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
You’re in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort here

So tired of the straight line
And everywhere you turn
There’s vultures and thieves at your back
And the storm keeps on twisting
You keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you lack
It don’t make no difference
Escaping one last time
It’s easier to believe in this sweet madness oh
This glorious sadness that brings me to my knees

In the arms of an angel
Fly away from here
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
You’re in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort there
You’re in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort here

Renee Olstead - Someone To Watch Over Me

Here is yet another talented and beautiful young lady singing a really sweet song. My favorite song of hers is 'Slow Boat to China;' just couldn't find a vid. :-( (luckily I found the entire song on iLike! COOL! Just click on the name of the song! Enjoy! :-)

Gary Wright - Love is Alive Lyrics

It's interesting to think about how powerful music is: the instant you hear the first few notes, it takes you back to the time in your life when the song was in your life. In my case, I was 15 and that's ALL I can say about that! lol! But...there is something so DANG "intoxicating" about the bass guitar, etc. of this song. It's so intense (well...it turns out that most of Wright's album is pretty intense w/the bold bass, etc. 'Made To Love You' (can't find a vid. Boo! :-( is pretty good as well as 'Can't Find the Judge,' and 'Dream Weaver.' Aw, heck...I LOVE the ENTIRE album! Just listened to 'Blind Feeling' and then 'Much Higher.' DAMN that's some GOOD music!) for me that it makes me wanna dance to it...with a, um, pole...IYKWIM...IF I knew how! lol! Anyway...I have ALWAYS LOVED this song because of the guitars! :-P Hope you enjoy! (Don't forget to "CRANK IT, BABY!" :-D

Elton John - Your Sister Can't Twist (Yellow Brick Road 13 of 21)

Elton John's 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' was pretty much the only album I had growing up so...I learned ALL the songs on this album. This song, in particular, is a WORKOUT to sing but has quite the "pep" to it and makes you wanna just get up and BOOGIE to it! :-D Hope you enjoy!

Joss Stone - Snakes and Ladders - Lyrics On Screen

Joss Stone has one of the most AMAZING voices I have ever heard of a female artist. And...so much talent and beauty it humbles me that much, I am in complete "awe" of this young lady! She started singing when she was only 16 years old and had such a "mature" voice, already. And...I just LOVE the "twists and turns" of her voice and the melody of this song. Hope you enjoy! :-)

Tanya Tucker - Somebody Must Have Loved You Right Last Night (1979)

Unlike many, I enjoyed Tanya Tucker, when I was a kid. Understand this about me: I did NOT like country music but something about her voice has always resonated with me. Basically, I can sing exactly like her, when I sing along with her. And...funny enough, this song talks about a very painful subject but all I hear is the BEAUTIFUL melody and her voice in this one. Hope you enjoy!

'Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word'

So...coming to realize how much these lyrics really do "speak" to me and...this song has been playing in my mind, for a couple of weeks, now, so I'd better "get it off my chest." Lyrics first, from here on out, so that you can read them, sing along if you like, whilst watching the vid.

What have I got to do to make you love me
What have I got to do to make you care
What do I do when lightning strikes me
And I wake to find that you're not there

What do I do to make you want me
What have I got to do to be heard
What do I say when it's all over
And sorry seems to be the hardest word

It's sad, so sad
It's a sad, sad situation
And it's getting more and more absurd
It's sad, so sad
Why can't we talk it over
Oh it seems to me
That sorry seems to be the hardest word

What do I do to make you love me
What have I got to do to be heard
What do I do when lightning strikes me
What have I got to do
What have I got to do
When sorry seems to be the hardest word

'Empty Garden' - Elton John

One of my most favorite music artists, growing up, was Elton John. That dude is one amazing guy! To think about how long his career spans...and the fact that he is still going strong - to date - is really mind-blowing to me! I hope you and I have a very long life, Elton, 'cuz life would never be the same without you still here...as you kind of state with your dedication of this song to John Lennon. And...funny enough, I never knew that this song was about John Lennon...until I found this YouTube of this beautiful song.

Funny enough, though, I often didn't think much about the lyrics, while I listened to these songs, growing up. They have come to mean a LOT more to me, now that I'm an adult. I will post them below the song, for you to sing along, if you like...or just to be able to think about what this song might mean to you. I would love if you cared to share that with us, as well, if you're OK with sharing that; what a gift that would be. :-)

Some days, songs just float their way into my mind and won't leave, so...here is where I want to "park" them and chronicle them, sharing them with you, dear visitors. I hope you enjoy.

Music by elton john
Lyrics by bernie taupin
Available on the album jump up

What happened here
As the new york sunset disappeared
I found an empty garden among the flagstones there
Who lived here
He must have been a gardener that cared a lot
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop
And now it all looks strange
It’s funny how one insect can damage so much grain

And what’s it for
This little empty garden by the brownstone door
And in the cracks along the sidewalk nothing grows no more
Who lived here
He must have been a gardener that cared a lot
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop
And we are so amazed we’re crippled and we’re dazed
A gardener like that one no one can replace

And I’ve been knocking but no one answers
And I’ve been knocking most all the day
Oh and I’ve been calling oh hey hey johnny
Can’t you come out to play

And through their tears
Some say he farmed his best in younger years
But he’d have said that roots grow stronger if only he could hear
Who lived there
He must have been a gardener that cared a lot
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop
Now we pray for rain, and with every drop that falls
We hear, we hear your name

Johnny can’t you come out to play in your empty garden
